Our research group investigates electrocatalytic processes at the solid-liquid interface. We are in particular interested in processes related to energy conversion, i.e. reactions that can be used to store electric energy, re-convert (stored) energy back into electricity or to convert electric energy into chemicals of high value.
Our vision is to perform basic research that makes a difference in applied systems. We develop new, innovative tools and experimental approaches ranging from electrochemical instrumentation and software to catalyst synthesis and testing.
We understand electrocatalysis as an interdisciplinary research field. Chemists, physicists and engineers work together in our team. In addition, we collaborate with a number of research groups concerned with theoretical investigations, catalyst synthesis or specific catalyst investigation methods.
